About Ricky Rivard

“Our community deserves a representative who will genuinely listen, respond, and advocate for their needs and those of everyone in Kane County. I believe in the power of good governance and policies to enhance our daily existence. As a tireless Representative, I will strive to formulate policies that foster growth and progress in Kane County. I will safeguard the well-being of all residents without compromising the financial stability of future generations. Furthermore, I will champion transparency and accountability. I will engage with the community openly, sharing my decision-making processes and seeking input from diverse voices. By fostering an inclusive dialogue, I will ensure that policies align with our collective vision for Kane County’s future. Let us rally behind leaders who prioritize both present well-being and the long-term prosperity of generations to come.”

For more than three decades, I have called Kane County my home and have been raising my family here. With a Master's degree in Political Science from Northern Illinois University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and History, I have both the education and experience to make a difference. Currently, I serve as an adjunct professor at Elmhurst University and have spent more than 20 years in the service industry.

Throughout my extensive tenure in the service industry, I had the honor of observing the lives of numerous individuals over the past two decades. During this time, I actively participated in their moments of celebration and joy, as well as accompanying them during more contemplative and solemn periods. It is within these poignant moments that I gleaned a valuable insight: compassion, when extended to one another, possesses the remarkable ability to fortify our interpersonal relationships and foster a sense of community. By emphasizing the intersection of compassion and connection, we can construct a resilient and supportive community, which, in turn, serves as a robust platform for achieving shared objectives.

In my view, an effective government has the potential to significantly enhance the quality of life for its constituents. It should extend a helping hand when necessary, without overstepping its boundaries. A government that provides a safe environment for individuals to grow, learn, and take risks—free from the fear of failure—is essential. With concerted efforts, we can accomplish remarkable feats and establish Kane County as a model for the rest of Illinois to emulate.
